Pinterest Plan in Review for February 2022- What I Accomplished

Image
This post is about what I accomplished on my Pinterest Plan for February 2022.  To some degree, I was able to accomplish everything on my Pinterest Goals. In the photo below, you see my goals. The Before Photo The After Photo... My YouTube Version 1 - Fashion to Replicate-  This outfit is by  Just Amazing Girl .  I was able to duplicate this outfit with things I already have.  I usually do not wear scarves, so I did not add this to my outfit. 2-  How to Keep a Clean Home -Everytime I follow one of these charts, I pick one or two options to adapt to my routine.   Beauty With Lily  suggested that you take out the trash every day, but I don't need to do that.  I decided to go through the entire house once a week and collect trash the night before my garbage is picked up. I have neglected some of the trash in the house because I rarely used the trash cans in places other than the kitchen.  This is about to change. 3- How to Use GoodReads -  I am on GoodReads almost daily.  I have th

Sunday Shopping On Amazon-The Best Pans for Gas Stove Tops

Image
Let's go Sunday Shopping on Amazon.  The shopping focus today will be pots and pans that can stand up to the high heat of a gas range. I remember doing a bit of research back in 2019 in an attempt to find a Cook Ware Set that could withstand a gas stovetop.  I ordered the Cuisinart Dishwasher Safe Hard-Anodized 11-Piece Cookware Set. I loved the look of the set, and I was so excited to begin to use them.   Sad to say, the most used of the pots has not held up well. It appears they don't do well on gas stovetops. It looks like the material is slowly being eaten away. I may look to see if there is any type of warranty because this is disappointing. I will search for another set and see what I can find. I found an article titled Seven Best Cookware for Gas Stoves in 2022 I was able to find 4 of their suggestions on Amazon. Then I went to Amazon and looked at Best Pots and Pans for a Gas Stove .  I choose a couple to put on my Sunday Shopping. (I am an amazon affiliate.  If you buy

Book Genres Defined- What is a Contemporary Genre?

Image
There are so many genres and subgenres in books.  One series that I started is "Book Genres Defined" so that you and I can better understand what they are.  Today my focus is The Contemporary Genre." The YouTube Version I found a paragraph that sums up the Contemporary Genre... "Contemporary/Realistic: Realistic fiction creates imaginary characters and situations that depict our world and society. It focuses on themes of growing up and confronting personal and social problems. This genre portrays characters coming to understand themselves and others."  Here is a breakdown of how I understand the Contemporary Genre... *Stories that could happen to real people. *Settings are what could be real settings. *The setup could be our natural world and society. *The focus could be on confronting personal or social problems. *The storylines could focus on growing up and the situations faced during this time. *Contemporary literature usually means after WWII *There is no f

Restaurant Review BJ's Restaurant and Brew House in Cary NC

Image
I love Meetup Groups.  Why you ask.  Because in Meetup groups you get to meet new people and explore new places.  I am in one very active group, and one thing they like to do is go out to eat.  Happy Day, so do I. Last night I went with a group to BJ's Restaurant and Brew House in Cary, NC.  What fun.  BJ's is located in the Centrum @ Crossroads shopping center in Cary.  For me, it was easy to find, and the parking was easy, which is always a plus. The venue, I thought, was impressive. I liked this artistic display.  I think the silhouettes are making beer? BJ's is a large open restaurant with plenty of seating and a lovely bar. Their menu is extensive, and there is much to choose from. I had the Atlantic Salmon Oven Roasted- Oven-roasted or blackened salmon fillet | lemon chardonnay butter sauce | rice pilaf | steamed broccoli My seatmate had a burger... The person across from me had the Shrimp Scampi, which she loved. Her plan was to eat half and take some home for late

It was going to be an exciting day, and I could not wait to get started.  I was headed out with a group of wine tasting buddies to a couple of vineyards and wine stores in the great state of North Carolina. Before we get started on our first tour, I want to share with you an NC wine fact. "North Carolina is home to 186 wineries.  More than 525 individually owned grape vineyards on 2,300 acres are spread across the state." NC Wine Our first stop, Grove Winery and Vineyards. Grove Winery & Vineyards 7360 Brooks Bridge Rd Gibsonville NC 27249 A bit about them from their website, Grove is recognized as one of the most awarded wineries and estate vineyards on the East Coast. Daily Holidays-Feb 20th is Clean Out Your Bookcase Day!

Image
You guys know I love books.  I love to read physical books and listen to Audible books.  I was on my computer today, Feb 20, and I noticed that it was Clean Out Your Bookcase day, and I got excited.   I do have a variety of bookcases and a variety of books. I have children's books, middle grade, young adult, and adult books. Maybe it is time to organize what I have. You may be saying, "it is no longer Feb 20th. I missed the day".  No worries, you can do this any day! Many use this day to clean, declutter, and organize their bookshelves.  You could dust and polish your bookcases and then organize your books in a way that makes sense to you. There are many ways to organize your books.  Some popular methods are by title, author, or genre.  Some people organize their books by color.  You will see some bookcases with paperback and hardbound books positioned in separate locations.  Others don't prefer to keep the book jackets on the books, whereas I typically like the book
