 My daughter Erica has two very young children.  The day seems long when you have a 1-month-old and a one-year-old, so we have decided to go on some adventures in our attempt to break up her day.  One such adventure was not far from our location it is called. Spring Haven Farm in Chapel Hill, NC. We gather up the kids, and off we went to the farm. Here is a quote from the website..... Experience all the  fun  and  joy of the farm with none of the work! I remember my very first visit to Wegmans .  My daughter and her husband were living in Quantico VA. and there was a Wegmans nearby.  She took me shopping there once and I was hooked.  Every time I would visit Stephanie we would visit Wegmans. I was on a trip with the Road Scholars several years ago.  One night was a free night for the group and someone said they were going to the very first Wegmans and I said "can I come?"  So off we went to a Wegmans in upstate NY.  Here is a link that can fill you in on more of their history... Wegmans Wegmans has a lot to offer.  There are so many different departments to check out.   If you have a Wegmans near you be sure and pay them a visit. We are going today!  

A few weeks ago we traveled to Virginia.  There we had the privilege to visit a lovely farm near Staunton.  What fun! The Horses I have always loved being around horses.   The Donkeys The Cats and Dogs You have one guess as to which cat is in charge. Yep, the dark kitty keeps everyone in their place. One of the blogging groups I am a part of decided to go on a Distillery Tour.  Of course, when I found out about it I said "wait for me" and off we went to Durham Distillery in Durham NC. Being more of a wine girl it will be fun to learn about and taste some of the offerings at the distillery.  Below is a quote from their website DURHAM DISTILLERY Named the # 1 Craft Gin distillery in the U.S. in 2018 by USA TODAY and the winner of Best Distillery and Best Local Liquor by Indy Week (2016, 2017 & 2018).  Located in downtown Durham, N.C.  and a certified Living Wage employer.  When you walk in there is a lovely bar area where you get your initial tasting before the tour. A few weeks ago my daughter said: "Mom, we are going to do something fun today and it is a surprise."   I am all for surprises, so I said: "let's go!"  We were nearly in Chapel Hill when she informed me we were going to a cat cafe.  I was really excited, I had never been to one. As you can see through the window, there is a small cafe where you can buy gifts, coffee, tea, wine, and other goodies.  Erica and I grabbed a drink and headed into the kitty area.  What fun! All the cats at the cafe are adoptable, so it is a great place to go if you are considering adopting.  Cost of the visit is $12.00, and you can book online.  Reservations are recommended because only a limited  amount of people can be in the room with the cats. This reservation gives you an hour with the kitties.  We met the artist of this beautiful mural...such talent! ...
