Travel-Two Days in Apex NC with Itinerary

Image
I love to travel. I can't always hop on a plane to visit far-away destinations, but I can take a road trip to area locations. I enjoy visiting small towns because I love the small-town charm. With that in mind, I knew where to go Apex, NC. Apex is a short drive from where I live, so I thought It would be an excellent place to explore. So here are a few things to do if you find yourself in Apex, NC. There are links throughout this post on my Apex Experience and some direct links to the businesses. The first thing I would do is find the perfect place to stay. I have always enjoyed the welcome feel of a Bed and Breakfast, so that is where I began my search. I found the ideal place. Located less than 5 miles from downtown Apex is a lovely B&B called B&B's Country Garden Inn . I did not stay because I live so close to Apex, but I visited and got the grand tour, and I was impressed by the owner's welcoming attitude and friendliness. My next stop is always the visitor cent

Journal Prompt for November-A Thanksgiving Journal Prompt. Describe Thanksgiving in Your Childhood Home

Image
Here we are entering the holiday season.  That got me thinking of my childhood Thanksgiving with my family.  So the journal prompt for November is "Describe Thanksgiving in Your Childhood Home." As a kid, every year, I was excited and looked forward to our Thanksgiving celebration. For one thing, we had several days away from school, which was always a plus. Usually, two to three days before the big day, Uncle Leslie and Aunt Charlotte would appear. This would mean I would have to give up my bed for the floor, but that was ok because they were family members I adored. Preparation for our Thanksgiving Dinner began several days in advance of the holiday. Mom always made a pumpkin pie and a sweet potato casserole, and Aunt Charlotte made her onion-heavy cole slaw which I learned, over the years, to look forward to. One of my favorite foods on our thanksgiving dinner table was stuffing. Mom made a wonderful bread stuffing. I remember the loaves of bread, butter, onions, celery,

I love this quote by Carlos Santana on healing and joy. I agree that no matter how much you have been hurt, you can heal if you hold onto joy.  It may take an effort, but the joy that is deep in your heart will slowly heal any wounds. God Bless! KathieyV
