Travel-A Trip to Spring Haven in Chapel Hill NC

 My daughter Erica has two very young children.  The day seems long when you have a 1-month-old and a one-year-old, so we have decided to go on some adventures in our attempt to break up her day.  One such adventure was not far from our location it is called. Spring Haven Farm in Chapel Hill, NC.

We gather up the kids, and off we went to the farm.

There were so many free-range critters.  We met several friendly goats walking around the grounds.  There were also turkeys, guineas, chickens, a couple of dogs, and we saw one cat.  Also, you will find in fenced areas horses, a pig, a duck, and two Highland Cows.  We also met an adorable donkey.

They were taking people on this little tractor pull ride.  It looked like fun.

We had a fun time at Spring Haven Farm.  The animals were friendly and the people welcoming.  There is a small shop on site that I did not have a chance to explore.  That day we did see tiny white baby goats, adorable!

Jane is just over a year old.  She has seen farm animals in books and on videos but has not experienced any in person.  The entire time we were surrounded by these adorable animals, Jane seemed a bit overwhelmed and made interesting babbling sounds.  In meeting all the animal's Jane came away with the ability to say Quack.  I think the duck impressed her.

If you go, I suggest you wear bug spray.  Take a picnic lunch. There are picnic tables on-site.  They have tickets for events that you can purchase online.  Here is the link to their site for further information Spring Haven Farm
