Wine Wednesday-A Trip to Burntshirt Vineyard Tasting Room and Bistro

It is Wine Wednesday.  Let's visit a winery tasting room in Chimney Rock, NC.
Last week I was with my daughter and her family in the Asheville area of North Carolina.  You know my motto "You must visit a winery in every town."  We visited a winery, not in Asheville but Chimney Rock, a short drive from the Asheville area.  We went to Burntshirt Vineyards Tasting Room and Bistro.
Several years ago, I stayed in Chimney Rock, and at the time, they were in the process of constructing this building.  So I went to the Burntshirt Vineyards in Hendersonville, NC.

As we drove up to the Tasting Room and Bistro, I was impressed with the facility. It is beautiful.

Here is a quote from the website...
"Located on the Western edge of Lake Lure, just up the street from Chimney Rock State Park’s entrance, and directly below the popular local event spot The Gathering Place, our Tasting Room & Bistro is a must see addition to Chimney Rock Village."

There is seating inside and outside.  It was a beautiful day, so we decided to sit outside.  They have a large seating area outside with a lovely view of  Chimney Rock State Park.  The last time I was in the area, I did climb the many stairs to the top of Chimney Rock, and here is the post with my experience.

Erica and I both ordered a tasting.  She had mainly red wines, and I ordered the white for my tasting. For more on their site about their wine tastings, click here.

Of course, we had to order something from the Bistro.  We decided to try the Fried Goat Cheese Fritters, and they did not disappoint.
According to the website, the menu changes often, so they suggest you call ahead if you need to know in advance.  Below is the menu that was given as well as the wine list.
The inside of the Tasting Room was rustic and beautiful.  It had a warm, inviting feel.

What a wonderful visit we had at the Bruntshirt Tasting Room and Bistro.  I wish it was closer to where I live. I would go often.

If you are in the Asheville or Chimney Rock area, I suggest giving them a try.  I highly recommend them if you like good wine, friendly people and a nice view.

Happy Travels and Wine Sipping!
