 I am always looking for fun things to do in the area.  I decided to take it further and see what events are occurring in North Carolina in a specific month.  Let's look at just a few things happening in December 2024 in NC that you may enjoy.



I live in the Raleigh/Durham area, so I looked for exciting events to attend in December that are within driving distance.  I would love to attend them all!

Things to do in December 2024 in the Triangle Area


Nov 16-Jan 12 is the Chinese Lantern Festival in Cary NC

Nov 29- Dec 1 is the Christmas Carousel Holiday Gift Market in Raleigh NC

November 8-February 9 is Fenton Skate The Square in Cary NC

December 5-15th on selected dates is Twas the Night Before...by Cirque du Soleil in Durham NC

Select dates in November and December is the Dessertery in Raleigh NC

Nov 20-Jan 5 is Winter Wonderlights in Greensboro NC

Nov 29 and select  dates until the end of Dec is the Grandville Christmas Farm in Oxford NC

December 7th is a Holiday Flotilla in Beaufort NC

December 7-14 is Winter Fest in Southport NC

December 13 is Holiday Stroll in Blowing Rock NC

Places-Hiking A Linville Falls Trail in North Carolina.

I honestly can't tell you the name of the trail that Erica and took on our hike.  You go to the Linville Falls Visitors Center,  turn left, and take the path down.  After doing a bit of research, I think it is the Linville Falls Plunge Basin Trail.  It is a more challenging trail then the hike to the right of the visitor center, although that one is lovely. I have done this hike a couple of times.  Always fun.  Just in case it is Linville Falls Plunge Basin Trail here is some info on that hike found on  Asheville Trails Linville Falls Plunge Basin Trail "The hike departs from the Linville Falls visitor center, located off the Blue Ridge Parkway at MP 316 ( view maps and driving directions ), hanging a left in front of the visitor center. A Visit to Burntshirt Vineyards in Hendersonville NC

My visit to Bruntshirt Vineyard was several years ago.  I visited the one in Hendrsonville, NC; there is also a bistro and tasting room in Chimney Rock, NC.  I was just on their site to make sure it is still open during this Covid Pandemic, and it is.  Both sites are open and hosting events.  I wish they were closer to Cary, NC; if they were, I would visit today.  Let's go back to the past and visit Burntshirt Vineyards... It was the final day of my mini-vacation.  I had climbed the stairs to the top of Chimney Rock, I had pontooned beautiful Lake Lure, and I had stayed at the lovely Esmeralda Inn.  Anytime I take a trip, I do my best to visit a local winery, and I had been remiss in my tradition on this trip.   I could just go home, but that would be crazy if there were a local winery to explore.
