A Few Things to do In August in North Carolina-Area Events

 I am always looking for fun things to do in the area.  I thought I would take it a bit further and see what events are occurring in North Carolina in a specific month.  Let's take a look a just a few things happening in August 2023 in NC that you may enjoy. I live in the Raleigh/Durham area, so I looked for exciting events to attend in July that are easily within driving distance.  I would love to attend them all! The Links to Each Event... Sunday Shopping-Shopping on Amazon for A Day Out Boating

Last weekend I spent a lovely day on a bass boat on a local lake.  What fun!  As I enjoyed the boat ride, I thought of a few things I would like to have for my next boat ride.  Let's head over to Amazon and take a look at A Few Items to Buy For My Next Boat Ride. It is time to start planning a menu for Aug 2023.  I go to many places to find recipes, but one of my favorite places is Pinterest. Let's take a look at a few things I would like to make in Aug 2023. Breakfast- Easy Quiche Recipe with Bacon and Spinach (I made this, and it was delicious) Lunch- Chrispy Bacon Brie Grilled Cheese Salad -Tuscan Tortellini Salad Dinner- Creamy Coconut Milk Chicken Veggies- Creamy Pasta Primavera  (This is good, I will make it again and add more veggies) Dessert- Caramel Bread Pudding Appetizers- Loaded Queso Dip Yummy Drinks To Try- Hawaiian Mimosas Breads- Pineapple Bread  (I made this and did not like it at all.  Very dry, so I threw it away) I would love to know what you are making this month.  Share with me in the description box.  If you try any of these recipes, let me know how they turn out.  Today is a travel day.  Let's take a look at an off-the-beaten-track adventure.  Shangri-Li Stone Village in Prospect Hill, North Carolina The stone village is located between Hillsborough and Yanceyville in Prospect Hill NC Visitors are welcome anytime at no charge. "A retired tobacco farmer's pet project turned into a sturdy miniature city." Atlas Obscura The structures are made out of concrete, stone, and arrowheads. Henry Warren, a retired tobacco farmer, started his village in 1968. He worked on the village for 9 years.  He was working on a hospital for his village when he died in 1977.
