Wine Wednesday-What The Heck is the Point System for Wine?

Image
It is time for Wine Wednesday.  Today I want to talk about Wine Points.  I had never heard of wine points until I was invited to a wine party.  Everyone has to bring a bottle to share.  The bottle has to be rated 85 points or above.  Having never heard of such a point system, I decided I needed to do my research before the event.  So What the Heck is the Wine Point System? The wine rating system is a grading process.  This rating is based on opinion, so it is an subjective grade.  Market View Liquor states that these scores are basically "a point of reference and not an official decree." Who makes the determination on the rating of a bottle of wine?  There are usually three groups Professional Wine Critics, Wine Competitions, and Wine Bloggers. The wine score is based on various criteria such as Appearance, Consistency, Nose, Taste, Complexity, Varietal Representation, and Room for Improvement.  More can be found on this at Market View L...

Words-Words of Inspiration by Carl Jung

Image
Each week I hope to share a quote with you.  Some will be inspirational, some heartfelt, some deep,  but all will give you something to think about. All of us will experience trauma on some level in our lives.  It may be physical, emotional, or both, but either way, we can come out on the other side of such trauma.   I agree with the quote by Carl Jung, for the most part.  I guess it depends on how much damage has been done as to how fast and if we can "choose" what we become.  That being said, I think no matter what the pain in our life has been that we need to fight for what we "choose to become" and what we can become...hopefully we can become our best selves in lieu of our circumstances. For some, after a major trauma, it will take baby steps.  Just the choice to take that baby step can lead us closer to what we want to become.  In a sense, we are, at least in part, what happened to us.  We have been damaged in some way, which has changed...

Monthly Motivation-Consider The Tree

Image
Today I will consider the tree.            I said to the almond tree, 'Friend, speak to me of God,' and the almond tree blossomed. Nikos Kazantzakis But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God;  I trust in the loving-kindness of God forever and ever Psalm 52:8 God Bless You On Your Journey! KathieyV:-)
