Ten BookTube Terms Defined with a Link to My YouTube Channel
I don't know how many times a term is used on Booktube, and I have no idea what they are talking about. This happens so often that I decided to look up ten terms commonly used on book review videos to better understand Booktube jargon. Let's get started.
Wrap-Up-A video that shares all the books read over a period of time.
TBR-A list of the book that the booktuber plans to read. TBR="To Be Read."
Book Haul-A video that is made for sharing the books a Youtuber just received.
Book Tag-A game where a booktuber creates a list of book-related questions. They tag other members to answer the questions as well.
ARC-This means an Advanced Reader Copy. This is a book or digital copy sent to a reviewer by the publisher for the reader to review before the publication date.
DNF- This means that the reader "did not finish" the book.
RTC-"Review to Come"
Reading Slump-Slower reading then usual as if they have lost their inspiration to read.
Shout Out- This is where a booktuber recommends another booktubers channel.
Readathon- This is an event where participants read together over a defined period of time.
I hope knowing a few booktube terms will help you have a better experience while watching book-related videos. If you have any terms you have come across and did not understand, put it in the comment box, and I will try to find out the meaning.
Happy Reading and Booktube watching!
