Small Things Matter (Click the title above to watch the video) As I watched this short video, it was easy to see that no words need to be spoken to show God's love to others.  Sometimes we think that to share God's love it has to be communicated through a tremendous gesture that reaches a large number of people.  I don't believe that is true.  As seen in the video it is in the "small things" that we can touch another life.  We have the ability to change someone's day through an act of kindness. Even if we are struggling with something in our lives, we can keep our eyes open to the opportunities to express kindness.  In this expression, we can make not only another's day better but ours as well. But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ,  and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place 2nd Corinthians 2:14 Have a great week everyone! March 16, 2019 MORNING MOTIVATION, THE SERENITY PRAYER The author of this prayer was Reinhold Niebuhr.  The prayer was widely used in sermons in the 1930's and 40's and was first published in 1951. The Serenity Prayer was spoken a lot in my family.  I can still hear my mom quoting this prayer.  I can't recall when she began reciting the words.  It could have been while she was trying to cope with the many difficulties in her life.  It may have been when my brother entered the 12 step program due to his alcoholism.  I am not sure of its origin in her life.  Regardless of when she began to say this prayer the words seemed to give her comfort.   I think it can give those of us going through a separation and divorce comfort as well.  It is a simple prayer but contains a depth of truth and faith.  God can give us the  serenity  to accept the things we can't change.  God can give us the  courage ...

 One of my goals in visiting Lake Lure was to climb the stairs to the Chimney Rock at  Chimney Rock State Park .  I had heard there was a staircase of over 500 steps that lead to the rock and I could not wait to venture up the stairway.
