Morning Motivation "TAKE" (Trust, Act, Kneel, Encourage) David Anderson

Image
I love my Sunday mornings. I do not have a home church as of yet, so I grab my coffee and note pad and listen to  a sermon via podcast. The last two weeks, I have listened to services from Bridgeway Church in Maryland.  The pastor both times has been David Anderson. He starts his sermon by quoting  a man that just faced down a bear. I wish I were as brave as Carl, but I am not. I have fears and worries. I want to be brave and face each day, confident that God walks beside me and is in control, and I do 90% of the time. How do I maintain this confidence 100% of the time? I need to follow David Anderson's advice. He said we need to develop a courageous heart. We need to take courage. He says we can do this in 4 ways. "Take" *T- Trust that God is in control. (I remind myself of this constantly) *A- Act courageously to do what must be done. (I am trying to get all the things I need to do completed) *K -Kneel before God and claim his promises. (I don't al

Morning Motivation The Highwaymen "One Turn on the Trail"

Image
I was watching a movie called The HighwayMen a couple of weeks ago.  It is a very good movie about 2 Highwaymen on the search of Bonnie and Clyde.  One quote stood out to me in the movie and it contained the words "one turn on the trail".  As this phrase was used I interpreted to mean that one decision, one turn on our path could change the trajectory of our lives.    The turns, decisions, we make could be deliberate or they could be the spur of the moment decision done with little thought.  These paths that we take have consequences and they could be good or bad depending on the decision.  The outcomes both good and bad effect not only ourselves but also others.  Help us, Lord, to choose our paths wisely.  Help us to keep your plan in mind when we make choices,  as well as how any decision we make can positively or negatively affect others.  If we make a mistake and take a wrong "turn on the trail" please gently guide us back to you. Thank You, God! Kath

Taking Care of Ourselves-Just For Fun-Time with The Grandkiddos

What do you do for fun?  For me, one of the highlights in life is spending time with my Maggie and Caleb.  I love to take them on adventures.  It could be anything from visiting a pumpkin patch, a museum, or going to a local playground.  I have just added another experience to the list, there is a camel farm just a little over an hour from here that we have to check out. Last week I had the kids for a couple of days and thought let's go on an adventure.  We decided to go to a hotel in the area and enjoy the pool and room service.  So off we went... What a fun pool!  Beds were comfy.  I did share a bed with Maggie, and she does love to move all night long.   Caleb loved having his own bed.  Watching an exciting movie.  Room service was great, really nice people,  but the food was awful.  The kids would not eat the pizza or the brownies.  I did not eat my sandwich, but I did like the wine:-) The next morning we had a lovely breakfast.  Then we spent time in th

Places A Blast From the Past "The Piedmont Farm Tour"

Image
This is a blast from the past.  My first experience visiting the Piedmont Farm Tour.  I had never heard of it, but this was their 16th year.  There were 40 farms on tour this year.  We only had a few hours and wanted to see them all, but realistically knew we had to narrow it down.  So with our map in hand, we selected 4 farms to visit....let the fun begin....here are a few shots of our adventure. So cute, I wanted to take him home:-) I  listened to the talk given by the farmer and learned about sustainable crops.  He said that after a field was harvested then turkeys and chickens came in and ate from the site, and when they were done they send in the pigs, and they clear the land.  Everything works together.  Makes total sense.  Of course, I was off taking pictures and playing with the puppies, so I missed most of the talk, but that's ok because I love taking pictures.....and petting puppies:-) As I was reading about each farm, I ke
