Monthly Motivation-Sorrow Into Dancing Psalm 30:11

Image
I read a book several years ago called "Small Island" by Andrea Levy."  There is a quote that I came across in the reading that touched me. "He looked so pained that I dreamed of taking his hands and making him dance." Her statement is directed toward someone not particularly nice; he is a harsh, self-centered person.  But her compassion for his pain made her want to help him, not only to help him but to bring him joy, to make him dance.  Wow, that is an amazingly powerful act of kindness — an example of God's love. "By you my sorrow is turned into dancing,  you have taken away my clothing of grief and given me robes of joy"  Psalm 30:11 Thank You God! KathieyV

Monthly Motivation-To You I Lift Up My Soul

Image
This is a motivational post from my divorce blog.  I wrote it early in my separation and divorce process.   Psalm 143:8 is a beautiful verse that we can hold unto in the good and the bad times in our lives. Monthly Motivation I have found, in my transition, that one of the most difficult parts of my day is just getting out of bed.  I could lay there for hours in a strange form of emotional pain.  As I encounter people in my situation, which is almost daily, they too have this problem.  "Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you.   Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul". Psalm 143:8 I thank you for this life, Lord, even the painful times, because it makes me draw closer to you.  Help me to see my life as an adventure regardless of where I find myself.  Help me to see you in every situation. Please show me the way I should go,  for to you, Lord, I do lift up my soul.  Am...

Morning Motivation-Wait on the Lord

Image
I will be the first to admit that it is not always easy to wait on the Lord.  If we love God and trust Him, then wait we must for He "knows the plans he has for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11. For many of us going through a separation and divorce, our path has been drastically changed. All of our plans and dreams have been shifted.  We may not know which way to go and that is when we need to trust and wait on the Lord and his timing because His timing is best. Timing is so important! If you are going to be successful in dance, you must be able to respond to rhythm and timing. It’s the same in the Spirit. People who don’t understand God’s timing can become spiritually spastic, trying to make the right things happen at the wrong time. They don’t get His rhythm – and everyone can tell they are out of step. They birth things prematurely, threatening the very lives of their God-given dreams . –  T. D....

Morning Motivation from Psalm 34:4

There is a young woman that I know who has not had, what I would call, an easy life.  I am not sure of the depths of the trauma in her life but I know it has been painful and I know there are scars.  This young woman has a passion and love for others, especially children, and has overcome and continues to overcome, daily, the demons of her past.  I was able to witness a very happy moment in her life.  She had a financial need, a very unselfish need,  that she knew could not meet on her own no matter how hard she tried.  She put it in God's hands.  Seemingly out of nowhere someone she barely knew reached out to her and blessed her with a gift of money so she could meet this need in her life.  I was so lucky to be there when she was given this gift. Her joy was palpable.  With tears in her eyes, she said: "My faith has to be bigger than my fear." What a blessing! "Lord, please let my faith to be bigger than my fear.  Give me fait...
