Places-G.58 Modern Chinese Cuisine in Morrisville NC

Image
I love to try new restaurants.  I noticed on the Meetup website that a group was going to a local Chinese restaurant that I have never visited, and I immediately signed up.  I am so glad I did.  It is a lovely restaurant with fantastic cuisine and very friendly people.  What fun! Here is a quote from their website "G.58’s modern approach to traditional Chinese cuisine offers an unforgettable fine dining experience. Dishes are prepared by master chefs from China, each bringing unique talents, experience and creativity to the food of the eight Chinese culinary regions. The food is matched by G.58’s extensive wine list featuring bottles from throughout the world, craft cocktails and imported and local beers designed to pair with your meal. Lunch and dinner are served Monday through Saturday and the menu changes seasonally." G.58 is located in Morrisville, NC.  Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very welcoming staff member and offered a tour that we wholeheartedly accept

Stress Relief-Try Reading

Image
Here is a quote in regard to reading and stress relief that I found online..... "Reading worked best, outshining other stress-reduction techniques like listening to music, taking a walk or having a cup of tea. Stress levels declined by 68 percent after participants read for just six minutes, leading Lewis to say, "Losing yourself in a book is the ultimate relaxation."    When you read, your mind is distracted from everyday worries and anxiety, while your muscles tend to relax. In addition, research shows reading leads to improvements in brain function, including significant increases in connectivity that persist for several days after the reading takes place."  Dr. Mercola For me, reading is a distraction.  It takes me to a new place and a different time. Reading distracts me from the things that cause anxiety in my life.  Because of this diversion, I can relax and step away from the fear and uncertainty of my life if only for a  moment. "As I Understand It" New Car, Insurance and Tags Oh My

Image
Many of us who have been married for decades don't understand the art of car buying.   When I was married my husband bartered for the new car, arranged the needed insurance and necessary tags. All things car-related just seemed to come naturally to him and so he just did it.  Now being on my own I have to figure out car-related issues and I plan to do just that. My Acura 2009 has been having a lot of issues.  The major one being the electrical system.  A few years ago I found myself stranded in Upstate New York and then again in Winston Salem NC not to mention several times at home.  The issue was the electrical system draining the battery and leaving me with an unusable vehicle.   They said they have fixed it but it still does not seem right to me.  I get all types of unreliable alerts that leave me not trusting my car. There are other problems too that have a high price tag to repair and so I thought "it is time for a new car". Over the years I have loved my Acura

I love going to area festivals.   Have you been to any garden or fall events this fall.  I would love to hear about them. Happy Fall Everyone! KathieyV

My Fun Fall Checklist for October

Image
My Fun Check List For October Read a Scary Book I decided to read a few scary books for the month of October. One that was recommended by a YouTuber I follow is "Heart-Shaped Box" by Joe Hill. I started this book and for me, it was too nasty I do not recommend it !  Not my type of book, it will not be on my bookshelf or in my house.  Nasty! I found another to try, Broken Girls by Simone St. James.   I actually read this several years ago and it is still on my bookshelf so it must be ok:-)  I will do a review once I finish it.  Are you reading any interesting books this month?  I would love to know what you are reading.  Drop me a line in the comments box below. Watch a Halloween Movie I found a link with  27 Classic Halloween Movies .  I have watched several of these.  I tend to avoid slasher movies.  Below I will list two of my favorite movies for the month of October. I decided to watch an all-time favorite of mine. "The Sixth Sense".  G
