Morning Motivation-Wait on the Lord

Image
I will be the first to admit that it is not always easy to wait on the Lord.  If we love God and trust Him, then wait we must for He "knows the plans he has for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11. For many of us going through a separation and divorce, our path has been drastically changed. All of our plans and dreams have been shifted.  We may not know which way to go and that is when we need to trust and wait on the Lord and his timing because His timing is best. Timing is so important! If you are going to be successful in dance, you must be able to respond to rhythm and timing. It’s the same in the Spirit. People who don’t understand God’s timing can become spiritually spastic, trying to make the right things happen at the wrong time. They don’t get His rhythm – and everyone can tell they are out of step. They birth things prematurely, threatening the very lives of their God-given dreams . –  T. D. Jak

Stress Relief-Getting Enough Sleep

Image
I remember the early days just after my husband left me that sleep was a near impossibility.  I would fight to fall asleep and then wake up crying in the fetal position throughout the night.  It was an awful time. Difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep can be a product of any life stressor. According to  Sleep Score Labs  "Sleep is a powerful stress reducer". Getting a good nights sleep can helps reduce stress, and inflammation and has many other health benefits according to Very Well Health .  They point out that getting 7-9 hours of sleep a night can decrease the risk of depression.  This is good to know when many of us going through divorce will struggle with depression and the fact that getting little sleep adds to depression is a disconcerting thought. A good nights sleep is vital to our health both mental and physical. So what do we do if we can't sleep due to life's traumas?  Here are some suggestions I have found online. Do your best to go t

Places:Cat Tales Cat Cafe in Chapel Hill North Carolina

Image
A few weeks ago my daughter said: "Mom, we are going to do something fun today and it is a surprise."   I am all for surprises, so I said: "let's go!"  We were nearly in Chapel Hill when she informed me we were going to a cat cafe.  I was really excited, I had never been to one. Cat Tales Cat Cafe   Check out their website for more info before you go. As you can see through the window, there is a small cafe where you can buy gifts, coffee, tea, wine, and other goodies.  Erica and I grabbed a drink and headed into the kitty area.  What fun! All the cats at the cafe are adoptable, so it is a great place to go if you are considering adopting.  Cost of the visit is $12.00, and you can book online.  Reservations are recommended because only a limited  amount of people can be in the room with the cats. This reservation gives you an hour with the kitties.  We met the artist of this beautiful mural...such talent! Let's meet a few of

Morning Motivation from Psalm 34:4

Image
There is a young woman that I know who has not had, what I would call, an easy life.  I am not sure of the depths of the trauma in her life but I know it has been painful and I know there are scars.  This young woman has a passion and love for others, especially children, and has overcome and continues to overcome, daily, the demons of her past.  I was able to witness a very happy moment in her life.  She had a financial need, a very unselfish need,  that she knew could not meet on her own no matter how hard she tried.  She put it in God's hands.  Seemingly out of nowhere someone she barely knew reached out to her and blessed her with a gift of money so she could meet this need in her life.  I was so lucky to be there when she was given this gift. Her joy was palpable.  With tears in her eyes, she said: "My faith has to be bigger than my fear." What a blessing! "Lord, please let my faith to be bigger than my fear.  Give me faith God when faced with illness,
