It was going to be an exciting day, and I could not wait to get started.  I was headed out with a group of wine tasting buddies to a couple of vineyards and wine stores in the great state of North Carolina. Before we get started on our first tour, I want to share with you an NC wine fact. "North Carolina is home to 186 wineries.  More than 525 individually owned grape vineyards on 2,300 acres are spread across the state." NC Wine Our first stop, Grove Winery and Vineyards. Travel North Carolina- PointLook Out Vineyards in Hendersonville NC

Image
I just took a trip to the western part of  North Carolina.  I decided to try to find a  nice vineyard, and I did.   Point Lookout Vineyards in Hendersonville, NC.  It was lovely. Here is a quote from their website "OUR VINEYARD IS ATOP THE SOUTHEAST SLOPE of Point Lookout Mountain with 30-mile panoramic views. The vines may not appreciate the scenery, but they are greeted with the morning sun and cooling mountain breezes that allow them to produce stunning wines that you will find just as wonderful as the views." They have some lovely whites and reds, and they also carry mead. There is plenty of seating, both indoors and out. The name Point Lookout fits the bill when it comes to describing this location.  If you go, you will find yourself at the literal top of a hill.  There you will find panoramic views of the mountains surrounding you. On the website, they say the view is up to 30 miles. I enjoyed the Dry Riesling.  I sipped my wine while...

Are you or were you a fan of Dr. Pepper ?  I remember as a kid we would have the occasional Dr. Pepper because my dad liked it and would buy a rare six-pack. It was not my favorite soda, but I did enjoy the unexpected treat.  That being said I would not have ever imagined putting this interesting flavored drink in my baked beans.  But guess what?  Someone did just that.   Check it out here " These Dr. Pepper Baked Beans Have Very Mixed Reviews"   Here is one quote from the article "tonight my trash can ate the beans."  Would you try them? "Can it be true?  Dollar Stores carry some toxic items.  Shocking!" I guess you could call me naive.  I have had th...
