Hiking Linville Falls. The Lower Trail.

I honestly can't tell you the name of the trail that Erica and took on out hike.  You go to the Linville Falls Visitors Center,  turn left, and take the path down.  After doing a bit of research, I think it is the Linville Falls Plunge Basin Trail.  It is a more challenging trail then the hike to the right of the visitor center, although that one is lovely.
I have done this hike a couple of times.  Always fun.  Just in case it is Linville Falls Plunge Basin Trail here is some info on that hike found on Asheville Trails

Linville Falls Plunge Basin Trail "The hike departs from the Linville Falls visitor center, located off the Blue Ridge Parkway at MP 316 (view maps and driving directions), hanging a left in front of the visitor center. The trail splits almost immediately at a signed junction: the Dugger Falls Trail veers left, and the Plunge Basin Overlook and Gorge Floor Trail turns right. The hike follows signs to the overlook, trailing eastbound through a forest filled with l…

Morning Motivation...He Prayed for Us, John 17:20

I know God loves us.  I know he cares about us.  But never realized that Jesus prayed for us.  He did.  He prayed for us in the Garden of Gethsemane.  Here are a couple of versions from John 17:20.

"Neither for these alone do I pray [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for all those who will ever come to believe in (trust in, cling to, rely on)  Me through their word and teaching."     AMPC

“I pray not only for these, but also for those who believe in me through their word."  CSB

"I am not praying for these alone but also for the future believers  who will come to me because of the testimony of these."  TLB
He prayed not only for his followers at this time but also for us that would follow, future believers.  Not only did he think about and pray for us but he did so as he was coming up on the most difficult time in his human existence.

Thank you, Jesus, for your love for us even in the dark times.  Help me see past my difficulties to care…

Piedmont Farm Tour....Farm 1 Sunset Ridge Buffalo Farm....2016

Time for the 21st annual Piedmont Farm Tour.  I have been on the tour one other time and I was excited to check out a few farms this year.  It was held on Saturday and Sunday so we went out both days.  There were 38 farms on the tour.  We were able to visit 4..... Caleb, Erica, and Kathiey's farm adventure.  The first farm on our list was a buffalo farm in Roxboro.
Sunset Ridge Buffalo Farm  As we arrived we saw the buffalo in the field.  It was at some distance but they were amazing.
The storm clouds were moving in as we drove up the road to check in for our adventure.
We made it to the gazebo just in time.  It poured.  No worries though.  We enjoyed a buffalo burger while sitting beside a beautiful lake.  Life is good.  (Caleb wanted nothing to do with the burger.  He had chips:-)

Caleb and Erica ventured down the trail to get a bit closer to the buffalo.  After this visit Caleb was able to add the term cow pie to his vocabulary. Although, I guess it was actually buffalo pie.

Inspiration Through the Music. My Sunday Song by MercyMe - "Even If"

Nothing touches me more then Christian music.  This week one of my favorite songs is "Even If" by Mercy me.  I like to look over song lyrics and place them in my category of The Beginning of my trauma, The Journey, finding myself again, and The Joy, that can still be found after an intense hurt. Listen to the song, it is inspirational and will touch your heart if you find yourself damaged by someone in your life.
The Beginning
"They say sometimes you win some Sometimes you lose some And right now, right now I'm losing bad"
"They say it only takes a little faith
To move a mountain
Well good thing
A little faith is all I have, right now"

The Journey
"But God, when You choose To leave mountains unmovable Oh give me the strength to be able to sing It is well with my soul"
The Joy "I know You're able and I know You can
Save through the fire with Your mighty hand
But even if You don't
My hope is You alone
I know the sorrow, and I know the hurt
Would all …

Weekly Quote from Pinterest

I found this quote and photo on Pinterest.  The statement is true.  Every day is not "good" in fact the day may be horrible.  There are times you just cannot see the positive because of the pain, but it is there.  Let's make an attempt to see good every day on our journey.    I don't know what you have to endure in your life, but God does.  Remember his promise.  I will never leave you or forsake you. Thank you God:-) Take a moment to list some of the good in your life....
Holding my 6 month old grand baby while she sleeps.  So beautiful, so peaceful.
My dog who is always by my side....He is sleeping at my feet right now:-)
Friends who never give up on you even in your most difficult times.
The chill in the air and the warm fireplace.
The rain today as it waters the trees and grass.
Please leave me a reply as to the good you are finding today in your world.
God Bless You!

Hiking The New Hope Overlook at Jordan Lake

I signed up for another Meetup group hike.  I never know what I am going to see on these hikes, I am always excited for the new adventure.  I grabbed my camera and headed toward Jordan Lake.  I will be quoting a site I signed up  It's free.  If you are at all interested in area hiking trails you should check out the site.
"New Hope Overlook Blue Route is a 2.8 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Moncure, North Carolina that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash."
Dogs are allowed on the trail. I did not take Brodie. The hikes are at a fast clip with this group so it may be difficult to drag him; literally along. Brodie and I go on 3-mile walks in our neighborhood. After about 3 miles he keeps looking at me as if to say "can we go home now?"  Ann was our fearless leader for thi…
