Fashion Friday "My Version"

Fashion Friday "My Version"

I love this look.  I love the boots and the vest.  I decided to shop my closet and shop the sale racks at Belk's to attempt to duplicate this look.  Here goes. Wish me luck….
First shop your closet.  Great way to save money.  I already had the stripped shirt. It even has little black elbow patches.  I bought that on sale at Belk's weeks ago.  Then shop the sale racks. I checked out every sale rack at Belk's to find the vest.   Got a good deal, on sale and I had a coupon:-)
The scarf I bought from a patient.  Her niece developed this design for her college.  Don't ask me what school, I don't remember.  Down south somewhere.  I wonder if my UNC fan daughters will be upset if I wear it??????:-)  I don't usually wear scarfs so I will need to Google how to tie the scarf.
I already have 2 pair of boots.  Both are "Vegan" leather, but thats ok.   I won't tell if you don't:-) I know I need to become a Belk's…

Finding Joy."40 Ways to Find Joy in Your Everyday Life" from the Huffington Post. #10

Finding Joy."40 Ways to Find Joy in Your Everyday Life" from the Huffington Post. #10 I try to seek out joy.  I try to see God's Beauty even in the pain.  With that in mind I decided to be deliberate about finding joy.  On the Huffington Post web site there is an article that gives you 40 ways to find joy.  I selected # 10 because I have already done it.  I can't say it was for no reason though, it was halloween after all, but it sure was fun. "10. Dress up in costume for no reason." Dressing up for Zumba.  What a great time with my friends….
Dressing up with Caleb on Halloween night.  He was a Dragon Monster and I had a little headband with Frankenstein faces on it.  We had a great time searching out candy in his neighborhood….
There is joy and beauty all around us.  Sometimes we need to seek it out.
Wishing you a joyful week.

Monday Morning Motivation. "Broken in The Right Places" by Alan Nelson

Monday Morning Motivation. "Broken in The Right Places" by Alan Nelson Here are a few quotes from a book I am reading,  "Broken in the Right Places" by Alan Nelson.  Chapt. 1 & 2
"A breaking process, as it emerges in these pages, allows us the often painful opportunity to grow and reach a level of maturity which cannot otherwise be achieved"

"The world breaks everyone and afterwards many are strong at the broken places"
Ernest Hemingway
"Almost everyone of us", says Gordon MacDonald, "will encounter some issue that introduces us to brokenness at a far greater intensity then we ever thought possible".

"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart.  He heals the broken hearted.  A divine romance exists between the broken and their Creator"

Alan places questions for reflection at the end of each chapter.  I will answer two. "Have you gone through specific wilderness periods you could refer to as times of broke…

Pinterest Finds: Home and Garden….Front Porch in the Fall

Pinterest Post Now that Halloween is over it is time to remove the ghosts and goblins from the front porch and go with more of a fall theme for Thanksgiving.  After searching through Pinterest I found this cute little basket idea.  This would look great on my front porch.  So I need to look for a basket, a few pumpkins, some fall leaves, and a nice welcome mat.
