Monday Morning Motivation…Philippians 4:8

I went to a funeral yesterday.  My dear friend and mentor Rebecca lost her son to a car accident last week.  In the past few days since the accident I have witnessed God's work in action through Rebecca.
Even in her pain she gives it to God.  She trusts God with everything in her life.  Even in grief her witness was clear.
As the bugle played at the gravesite a verse came to my mind…and I began to look around me
Finally Brothers and sisters…
whatever is true, (Rebecca, so true to your call Lord)
whatever is noble, (The painful beauty as the Marine knelt in front of Rebecca and handed her the flag)
whatever is right, (All the people that came to say goodbye to Mike and give support to his family)
whatever is pure, (The babies I could hear)
whatever is lovely, (The beautiful forsythia Mike's roommate brought to the gravesite)
whatever is admirable, (All the people there looking to you Lord)
anything excellent, (All the love that surrounded Rebecca and her family)
or praiseworthy…

Monday Morning Motivation…..

I have been working on my book and hope to have it published in May or June.  As I review the scripture passages I will be using this one touched my heart today…..
The Lord says, "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.   I will advise you and watch over you". Psalm 32:8 So good to know that God is our guide in this life.  There is no way we can know what we will encounter. I do know God remains our one constant in a world that can, at times, be unsettling.  Thank you for your love God, thank you for your guidance, thank you for watching over us.  Thank you for the beauty that is all around us.  Amen:-) Happy Monday Everyone! Enjoy Your World:-)

Exploring My World…Celebrity Dairy, My Third Visit

I could not pass up another chance to visit Celebrity Dairy during their Open Barn Event.  This is when you can visit the dairy, for free, and experience the joy of the baby goats.  Melissa, Nicole, and I jumped in the car, set our GPS and off we went…
Here is a quote from their site….
Following time-honored French farmstead techniques, we transform their milk into fresh goat cheese, or chèvre. Its taste is inextricably tied to its place of origin - our particular herd of Alpine and Saanen goats, their forage unique to our farm's pasture and woods, the Piedmont's gentle seasons, and our evolving skill in transforming the continuously changing milk into a delicate fresh chèvre. Simply put, Celebrity Dairy chèvre is an honest expression of ourselves, and our farm, and our place in time - our "terroir".
We made it to the farm safely and now to see the goats…

It is always fun to visit the farm.  I think Melissa and Nicole had a great time too….

The other critters on the f…

Monday Morning Motivation….Enjoying God's Creation

Some/most days I am overwhelmed by my life transition.  So many "what should I do about this", "what shall I do about that". Can I keep my house, can I find affordable health insurance, and the list goes on and on.  So what do I do to combat these feelings of confusion and defeat?  I turn to God's word….
"Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified;  do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go". Joshua 1:9 …I turn to my friends.  I am so thankful for my friends.  I am so thankful for the prayers they send up on my behalf.  I am so thankful that I can pray for them as well.
….I turn to the wonder and beauty of Gods creation.  I go on adventures just to seek them out.

Help me God to follow your command to be strong and courageous.  Help me to not be terrified or discouraged but to lean on and trust totally in you.  Thank you for being with me in what ever I encounter in my life.  I love y…

Help!!!! I need to choose a paint color.

It is the moment of truth.  I have hired the painter and now I need to choose the paint color.  It will be nice to have the walls painted and all the holes in the wall and the ceiling repaired.  I won't know what to do with myself:-)
As you recall I have a stone fireplace so keep that in mind.  I love a cozy warm feel...
The baseboard and crown molding and ceiling will be white.  My furniture is dark.  So here are the choices I have come up with.  Let me know which color you think would look the best….

Monday Morning Motivation…He quiets us with his love:-)

"The Lord you god is in your midst, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness, he will quiet you by his love, he will exult over you with loud singing." Zephaniah 3:17 I have struggled with many things since my nightmare began.  God has become my constant source of hope.  I know he is always with me/us no matter our situation.  I am thankful for Gods presence in our daily lives.  I also am thankful for the people He puts in our path.   Yesterday morning the alarm went off.  I lay there knowing I needed to go to church.  My skin was burning, as it has since my nightmare began and all I wanted to do was pull the blankets over my head and give up.  (This happens every morning) I forced myself out of bed and went to church. I am so glad that I did.  I had the privilege of singing with the praise team with some wonderful folks at North Raleigh Nazarene Church.  Heard a wonderful message, that motivated and inspired.  Then went to lunch with four of the mo…

Photography….Playing with PhotoShop...

I am now the proud and excited owner of Photoshop through Adobe.  I am also overwhelmed.  Where to start?  First thing I did was order Photo Shop for Dummies. That is due to arrive next week.  I just could not wait that long to get started.  I found a wonderful website that contains a ton of info...Photo Shop Essentials.  It takes thought to get through the articles, not written for dummies, but very helpful!!!
I choose a photo at random….This shot was taken from the Chesapeake  Bay Bride Tunnel.
I decided to try to boost contrast and color using Luminosity Mask and sharpen my image with a High Pass Filter.  Here are the results…
You can see the photo is much brighter.  I will not be happy unless I can get rid of that pesky trash can.
I decided to try the lasso effect…Amazing!!! The trash can is gone:-)
Could I explain to you how I did any of this?  No I have no idea!  I would need to review and then review again.  This will take practice, practice, practice.  So much to learn but so …

Motivation through the Media…Ghost Busters…Rice Krispie Treats...

It has been forever since I have made Rice Krispie Treats.  I was motivated to make them after watching the movie Ghost Busters...
Ghost Busters came out in 1984.  It has a great cast and I realized I had never seen it and thought I would check it out…. Just what prompted me to watch Ghost Busters after all these years?  An ice and snow storm… Two weeks ago we had a storm come through our area.  The snow came down quickly, everyone left work at the same time and the product was massive gridlock.  My normal drive home which takes 10 minutes took 3 1/2 hours.  People were stuck in ditches, abandoning their cars alone the side of the road and walking home or back to work.  What a mess.  I made it but it was not easy.  I did get off pretty easy though, many folks I spoke with were stuck in traffic for 7-8 hours.  Here is photo that went viral taken in Raleigh NC.  I am not sure who took this photo but it was fairly typical of what was going on all over the triangle area.  Someone had the …
