Monday Morning Motivation..A beautiful moment with Caleb.

Why should we choose hope when there is so much pain…..?  Some days I am not sure. But if I reach deep down I can give you many examples.  The beauty of the world that surrounds us, friendship, the ability to help and be helped by others and the list goes on and on.  This example touched my heart….
I took Caleb (my grand baby) to a local Christmas Parade this past weekend.  We had so much fun!  Caleb would tell you we saw a walking Christmas tree, a panda bear, fire trucks, horses, marching bands, dogs, policemen, Mr and Mrs Santa Claus riding a fire truck.
All very special moments.  The moment that was most precious to me was an intimate moment with my little grandson….

The parade started about an hour late.  Caleb was getting a bit restless.  We spent time playing Ring Around the Rosie, walking to the start of the parade and waving to the people that were preparing to be in the parade and we even walked part of the parade route waving to people as though we were in the parade.  Cale…

Photography….My first attempt at Jewelry Photography. "Designs by Lynell"

I was excited when I got the request from Lynell and Denny asking me to take some photos of Lynell's work.  I let them know I was a beginner and they encouraged me to give it a try.  I went on line and looked at some jewelry displays and read some articles on jewelry photography.  I soon learned that this type of photography is an art form in itself. There are special lights, special lenses, and special boxes to diffuse the light.  I had one piece of equipment my Nikon P510.  I hope I was able to capture the rich design talent that Lynell has.  I will let the photos speak for themselves

Check out her website Designs By Lynell. There you will find all of her contact info if you would like to set up a time to see her work.
It was fun to go out and attempt new things with my camera.
Get out and take some photos! Remember God's beauty is all around us.
Enjoy your world!

Chatham Artists Guild Studio Tour 2013

A friend of mine gave me a brochure with information on the Chatham Artists Guild 21st Annual Studio Tour. I have lived in the area for over 20 years and never heard of the tour.   My friend and co-worker Tania and I studied the brochure and decided to go on an adventure.  We met up a my house on a rainy Saturday morning.  I was the driver and Tania was the navigator.  Off we went.
Our first visit was to Designs by Lynell.  Jewelry is always a good place to start…

Monday Morning Motivation, Hope!

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and  not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
While watching TV this week I heard several quotes that stood out to me which I could use in my life situation.   This one I liked from Sleepy Hollow "You see what you have now and you embrace what is in front of you" Good advice Sleepy Hollow.  If you don't embrace what is in front of you, good or bad, your only other choice would be to give up. Although that can be an option, it is not the best option.
I really liked this one from Survivor "Morality and ethical issues are going to bite you in the ass in the end." Well said Survivor.  True?  I don't know.  Maybe not in this world. I do believe there are consequences to our actions.  That is kinda how I see the verse in the bible in relation to the sins of the father.  Our choices effect everyone.
My favorite TV quote this week, because it calls…

Recipe Review….Ginger Cookies from Allrecipes Magazine

It's nearly Christmas.  One of my favorite traditions is making Christmas cookies.  My mom used to make so many cookies.  Sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, snicker doodles, some type of pecan cookies.  Every year she make cookies and fudge to give to her friends and neighbors.  I have never baked as many cookies as my mom did for Christmas but I always mange to make a few.  This year I was making cookies for Raleigh Church of the Nazarene Cookie Walk.  A fund raiser for the youth group.  I decided to try a new recipe from All Recipes Magazine "Big Soft Ginger Cookies".
I studied the recipe and gathered my ingredients….

Monday Morning Motivation…"I will take hold of your hand. I will protect you"

"I, the LORD, have called you to do what is right. I will take hold of your hand. I will protect you.
Isaiah 42:6
If you know me you know when I hear a song, watch a movie, or just live my daily life I look for a way to find God in it.  As you know I am going through a bit of my own personal hell. I was watching a TV show today and I heard a couple of quotes that I could relate to.
"Every time I think I am going to sit back and enjoy myself I can't.  Because it is never going to stop" I have felt this way everyday for 6 months….it takes it toll both physically and emotionally "We can't let the bad things in life define us.   We have to find the good moment between all the bad ones" I have been trying very hard to do just that.  It is difficult though because of the betrayal and sorrow but I do my best to push through.  For example I had a wonderful week in spite all the ugliness .  I went out with Cindy, had dinner with friends (Tony, Sally, Joanie, Phil, Mary…
