Monday Morning Motivation

I have cried so many tears these last few weeks.  In all my sorrow I have done my best to lean on God.
I listened to a song today by Laura Story...Blessings.  The lyrics seemed to hit home with me today.

"Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops What if Your healing comes through tears And what if a thousand sleepless nights Are what it takes to know You're near What if my greatest disappointments Or the achings of this life Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy And what if trials of this life The rain, the storms, the hardest nights Are Your mercies in disguise" Made me cry all over again.  Beautiful song.

Monday Morning Motivation

Another very rough week.  I am just going through the motions.  Not mad at God though.  Bringing pain into peoples lives, I know, is not His choice for us.   What little strength I do have is from my faith in him, at this point that strength is hard to find, but it has to be there.
I want to share with you an exchange I had with a very nice person this week.  This is what I wrote in my journal....

Everyone has a story.  Everyone has pain.  Some brought on by life and some perpetrated on them by others.  Both can be devastating.  I spoke with a man this week who has had more then his share of challenges. His life has been consumed with physical and emotional pain.  He told me that he felt he was in a tunnel.  He could see a light in the far distance and he was relying on that light to get him through.  I listened to him for a long time. I felt his pain through his words.  Without going into detail and with tears in my eyes,  I shared with him that I too was in a tunnel.  My tunnel was …

Monday Morning Motivation

It has been a very painful couple of weeks for me.  I was thinking of my Mom and the scripture she used to lean on during her difficult times. Psalm 23.  I remember her drilling this Psalm into my head when I was a little girl.   The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

My prayer today...Restore my soul Lord.

Monday Morning Motivation "I Praise You In the Storm" Casting Crowns

"Praise You In the Storm"
I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say "Amen", and it's still raining

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
And I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to you
And you raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You

But as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
And I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my han…

Monday Morning Motivation..."Show me a sign"

How many times have we wished God would show us a sign?  God show me a sign of your presence, but make it big so there is no denying you.  In church yesterday we learned that the evidence of God is all around us, if we allow ourselves to be aware. Here are some quotes from yesterdays sermon,
"Give me a sign God".....

"Life is pulsing with the very presence of God"...

"Life is dripping with the divine"....

We need to "see the sacred in the ordinary"
God show me a sign!......God's reply is "I am"

God help to see what is right in front of me.  The beauty and love in your creation.
Happy Monday Everyone!
Enjoy Your World:-)
