Interesting Places to Visit in NC...The Pisgah Covered Bridge in Ashboro NC.

My mom used to talk about the beautiful covered bridges in Pennsylvania.  I remember visiting at least one as a small child.  I was excited to find out that there is a covered bridge in Ashboro.  It is named the Pisgah Covered Bridge. I am going to put it on my bucket list of places to visit.
Photo from the Visit NC website.

  • The bridge was built in 1911 at a cost of $40.00.  It is a one lane bridge.  It was washed away by a flood in 2003 but quickly rebuilt.  I did read that there is now graffiti on the bridge but that it is still worth the visit.
The zoo in Ashboro is the main reason I have visited the area.  The bridge is about 20 minutes from the zoo.  If you have time you could visit both the zoo and the bridge.

You can go to the Trip Advisor site to read reviews from folks who have been there.  The address is,
6925 Pisgah Covered Bridge Rd Asheboro,   NC   27205
Please check out the website for more details so that you can plan your visit.
