Summer Menu Tasting at Seasons 52 in Raleigh NC

Seasons 52 is a lovely new restaurant in Raleigh NC.  They opened in April of 2017 at the Crabtree Valley Mall.  I found out they were hosting a blogger event, to introduce their summer menu, and I jumped at the chance.  The free tasting provided samples ranging from appetizers to desserts and of course wine and seasonal cocktails. The entrance and lobby were warm and welcoming as were the staff that greeted us....

We arrived about 40 minutes early and decided to check out the bar. As luck would have it our timing was perfect; it was Happy Hour ( Monday through Friday from 4-6:30 at this location).
They have a great selection on the Happy Hour Menu with selected wine, small plates, and flatbreads for $5.  We had wine and shared two appetizers, Caramelized Grilled Sea Scallops and Southern Style Shrimp and Grits both were delicious.

The time had come and the event was about to begin. We were welcomed with a glass of wine and an overview of the room.  My daughter Erica and I, wine in han…

Interesting Places to Visit in NC... Calaboose Cellars in Andrews NC

I am always looking for new adventures.  I recently came across an interesting place, while searching online,  Calaboose Cellars in Andrews NC.
First off, where is Andrews NC?  It is way out there in western NC.   Calaboose is a slang term used for jail, prison, dungeon.  A term usually used to describe a local lockup.
Luckily, in the Calaboose Cellars, you will not find bad guys but you will find wine and beer. According to their website they are.... Check out their wine list.... and here you can find information on the beer.

Wandering Moose Food Truck

Fourth of July weekend was upon us.  Stephanie, Maggie and I decided to go check out a local. Fireworks venue.

And Happy Day they had food trucks.  It is always difficult to choose just one truck.  We looked at our options and decided to go with The Wandering Moose.  I love the logo.

"serving slow cooked meats, scratch-made sauces, and fresh sides" (Above quote and logo from their website)
We looked over the menu.....
We had to try the Smokey Bacon Mac N Cheese.  So good!  Yummy chunks of bacon all in a creamy mac and cheese sauce. Maggie loved it and licked the bowl clean.  I would most definitely order that again!

Memories of Sunday Funday Lawn Party. What fun!

Stephanie called and said she was taking the kids to Sunday Funday Lawn Party in Raleigh. She asked  if I wanted to come.  Yes, was my quick reply.  So off we went.  The event was held at Midtown Park at North Hills.  Great day for family fun....
They had two bands that day..Colin & Caroline and David Higgins Music.  Caleb got into the music, he loved it..

There were games, food, flowers, and drinks...There was a huge chess game and a giant jingo game.  You could also play croquet and corn hole.  They had a Champagne Bar and a Rose' Garden. Petals on the Go was there too.  Stephanie enjoyed making flower crown which was lovely:-)
We had a great time at Sunday Funday. I searched to see if they were going to have a repeat event this summer but I could not find any information so I guess not.  Hopefully they will have it again next year.  Great outdoor fun for the entire family. Happy Travels Everyone! KathieyV:-)

Monday Morning Motivation...Walk by the Spirit...

This week I listened to a sermon by Curtis Andrusko who was speaking at The Summit Church.  It was about the Fruit of the Spirit.  This is how I interpreted his message...
I guess there is a way to define us and our walk with or without Christ.  We can be directed by our faith or by our "fleshly" desires.  I have many desires.  I want to travel, I want to enjoy my family, I want to live a safe and secure life.  I want to be happy. Nothing wrong with that.  What Curtis was talking about was..

I am sure all of us have gone the path of at least some of these things.  Thank God that we can find our way back through God's Grace.  I can safely say I can't remember my last orgie...
never happened. :-) Most of the things on the list don't apply to me.  But, I do get angry, mostly at the one who broke vows to me and to God and divided our family.  It is now part of a very painful legacy we leave our children and grandchildren.  This is a huge struggle for me.  I have to …
