Restaurant Review Boheme in Durham NC

Image
There is a new restaurant in Durham.  Their name is Boheme.  Here is how they introduce themselves on their website
"kitchen. garden. bar." "Boheme is a family owned and operated venture by Chef Chelsea Mock.  Guided by the expertise of Chef William D’Auvray, Boheme has designed a menu that reflects the freshness of North Carolina’s offerings from farm raised vegetables, to local meat and East Coast fish.  Staying true to the design of the property at Straw Valley, the menu is a re-imagining of midcentury ideas about food combined with a modern, whimsical approach to preparation.  Boheme is an unconventional oasis offering diners an expression of flavors, art and hospitality." Their menu...
We ordered our wine and studied the menu.  I decided on the Blue Crab Agnolotti/Parsnip Brodo and Garlic Chives.
I consulted wikipedia  for a few unfamiliar terms....
"Agnolotti[aɲoˈlɔtti] is a type of pasta typical of the Piedmont region of Italy, made with small pieces of fl…

Book Review "A Deadly Grind" by Victoria Hamilton

Image
I just finished listening to a book called "A Deadly Grind" by Victoria Hamilton.  I don't care if love a book or dislike a book there is always something to learn on the adventure.  Did I love this book.  No, but it was fine.  A nice light listen.

Here is how the book is introduced on Amazon....
A Hoosier to die for? When vintage cookware and cookbook collector Jaymie Leighton spies an original 1920s Hoosier brand kitchen cabinet at an estate auction, it’s love at first sight. Despite the protests of her sister that the 19th-century yellow-brick house they share in Michigan is already too cluttered with Jaymie’s “junk,” she successfully outbids the other buyers and triumphantly takes home her Hoosier. But that night on the summer porch where they’ve left the Hoosier to be cleaned up, a man is murdered, struck on the head with  the steel meat grinder that is part of the cabinet. Who is this stranger—and what was he doing on their porch? Does his death have anything to do wit…

Quotes I like from Pinterest

This is so true.  Sometimes what we see as a horrible life event can lead to amazing new beginnings.  I did not see it in the beginning when my husband left me after taking nearly 4 decades of my life but I see it now.  I am thankful for my new beginning and where it will eventually lead.  My hope is to let other women in the same situation see that there is a light at the end of what appears to be a hopeless tunnel. Hang on ladies.  You are strong and you are loved.  Don't forget it.  Don't let him steal your life or your joy. KathieyV

Neighborhood Snapshots...Arlington Park at Amberly, Cary NC

Image
Brodie and I decided to check out Arlington Park at Amberly in Cary NC.  Join us as we walk through the community.  I will search the internet for a bit of info on the community.
Arlington Park was one of the first phases in Amberly.  Single family detached homes built by KB Homes in 2007.  As a resident of Amberly you have the opportunity to take advantage of a beautiful clubhouse and pool just a couple of blocks away.
I liked the tree lined streets.
Nearby there is a Harris Teeter, actually there are 2 of them pretty close by.  They are building a Whole Foods near by and there is talk of a Publix. Even better news there is a rumor that a Wegman's is coming to this side of Cary.  I sure hope so, I love that place:-)
There are several shopping venues near by.
Parkside Town Commons featuring Franks Cinebowl and Grill.  Where you can bowl or watch a movie in style.  I love to go to the movies there.  You can order a meal and rest in the comfy recliners and sip your wine or beer or…
