Road Scholar Trip Continued...Elmira College, Elmira NY

It was another beautiful day in NY.  We Road Scholars hopped on our ride and headed to Elmira College.  Elmira College was Founded in1855 and is in Elmira NY.  I had the opportunity to walk around campus and it was beautiful.  Here are just a few of my photos and, of course, some quotes from Wikipedia....
"The college is noted as the oldest college still in existence which (as a college for women) granted degrees to women that were the equivalent of those given to men
Elmira College became coeducational in all of its programs in 1969."

Olivia Langdon Clemens (November 27, 1845 – June 5, 1904) was the wife of the famous American author Samuel Langhorne Clemens, better known as Mark Twain.
Elmira College has an extensive Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) archive and is one of the only two centers for Mark Twain Studies in the world. A quaint study of his is located on campus.

It was a beautiful day for a walk around campus.  The sky was blue and the weather was perfect.  I loved the old buildings.  I learned so much from our Road Scholar guide.  How she stores all that info is amazing to me:-)
Tell me about your latest trip.
Happy Travels Everyone!
