The music was amazing on Sunday. I guess the song that was the highlight for me was a blues song...."Everyday I Sing the Blues". The guy singing the song was all over his electric guitar and he sang it from the heart. You may be wondering "singing the blues on Easter?" I just don't understand that. The speaker yesterday said that he remembered someone saying that if your church is not singing the blues on occasion they are missing something. What that meant to me was, yes, there are times that we sing the blues, there are hard times in our lives and we should be honest about them. He spoke about seasons of our life, the many and varied seasons. Some seasons are wonderful, and some shake us to the core. His scripture was John 1:5
"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." (NIV)
"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it." (NLT)
"And the light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness has never put it out."(ISV)
What a reassurance on Easter Sunday that God's light shines in all situations. Even in what we perceive as our darkest hour. His light shines in the darkness.
Thank you Lord for that reassurance in our lives. Help us to believe it even when the going gets tough.
Happy Easter Everyone!
Enjoy Your World:-)
