Monday Morning Motivation

Our tradition every year around Groundhog Day is to watch the movie Groundhog Day.  I think we have watched it every year since it was produced. Love that movie!  Its funny, thought provoking, and has a message to share.  I was reading Guideposts Magazine the other day and came across a piece written by Paul Hannam called "Groundhog Day".  He too watched and enjoyed the is what he had to say that is a reminder for us everyday....
"I've come to appreciate all that I've been given and all that I can give to others.  It goes back to what I learned from Groundhog Day, that choice I make every morning: Let me make today the best day posssible.  And you know what?  It is."
Happy Monday Everyone!

New Burlap Table Runner/Valentines Day 2013

It was Valentine's Day.  How should we celebrate?  Well let's see....first lets decorate the table.  A few weeks ago I had ordered a table runner from The Burlap and Lace Place on Below is a photo from their site.  I had the option of having it monogrammed but I preferred the simplicity of just the lace and the burlap.  I will add that customer service at this site was great.  When the owner saw that I did not put in any info on a desired monogram she wrote me right away to make sure that I had not forgotten to add this to my order.  She was happy to make it anyway I wanted it and it arrived at my door very quickly and I love it:-) See how pretty? Lets add some flowers....

Have to have chocolate and gifts....

Dinner had to be special but simple...(Since I had not been feeling well I assisted Josh in the cooking of the day and it turned out wonderful.  He should cook every week:-) Lobster and Filet Mignon

Time to eat....yum...
What a wonderful Valentines day.  (We di…

Monday Morning Motivation "A joyful heart is good medicine"

Ugggg! Home sick with a dreaded sinus infection.  I hate missing work.  So what to do for MMM?  I was looking over some scripture and came across this one...
"A joyful heart is good medicine" Proverbs 17:22 I really need some medicine and the Amoxicillin is not bringing me joy.... So what brings me joy.... My Family..

Going on adventures both local and far away...

I realize there is so much that brings me joy.  I love to cook, take pictures, slowly decorate the house, travel, read, exercise, walk with Brodie, watch a good movie or TV show, I love to blog.  I realize as I am posting that I get to do much of what I love, to do much of what brings me joy, and I am thankful for that.  With that in mind and now knowing that "a joyful heart is good medicine" I should be better very soon. Just in case though here are a few extra thoughts to make you/me smile

Happy Monday Everyone Enjoy Your World And Remember  "a joyful heart is good medicine":-)

Learn as you go Photography Lessons....Sports Mode

Primary photography subject, Caleb,  using sports mode...

Since I received my beautiful new camera for Christmas I have been very excited to try and master all the hidden bells and whistles at my fingertips.   A new world of adventure.

Initially I was excited to take Caleb out to the airport to watch the planes and take pics of him running back and forth with excitement.  Well the weather did not cooperate.  Then I was planning on going to the Krispy Kreme Race to watch and take action shots of Joe, Erica, and Tim as the flew by to the finish line.  Well I ended up sick and could not go.  (Joe and Erica's photo from last years race...)

I felt stifled...what to do?  Caleb, Steph, and Josh were over last Sunday and the weather was chilly but nice so why not go out to the garden and then to the park to try a few shots?
I had been doing a bit of reading on action shots in my new favorite photo magazine that I get on line.  It is called Photography for Beginners, a magazine out of the …

Monday Morning Motivation

There is a song we used to sing at Hope Creek Church.  I remember, very well,  practicing the keyboard and working on the vocal harmony of this song all the while feeling as though God was actually speaking to me through the words.  I was listening to the radio this weekend when this song was being played and all the emotion that I found in the words came streaming back.  What a great and needed reminder of God's love for all of us...."I Love You More" by Matthew West....

Take a look at the desert Do you feel like a grain of sand? I am with you wherever Where you go is where I am
And I'm always thinking of you Take a look around you I'm spelling it out one by one
(Chorus) I love you more than the sun And the stars that I taught how to shine You are mine, and you shine for me too I love you yesterday and today And tomorrow, I'll say it again and again I love you more
Just a face in the city Just a tear on a crowded street But you are one in a million And you be…

Monday Morning Motivation

Well it is Monday.  I did not go to church again yesterday but I did dream about going last night and it was a great service:-)
So, not having any church notes to share with you I decided to look up some quotes. A book that changed my life was Corrie Ten Boom's "The Hiding Place".  I read it when I was in my early 20's and it made an impression. The focus is the power of faith no matter what the situation we may encounter in our lives.
Here are a few quotes from Corrie from my google search....Plus a few of my photos...

“The tree on the mountain takes whatever the weather brings. If it has any choice at all, it is in putting down roots as deeply as possible."---Each New Day”

“There is no pit so deep, that God's love is not deeper still.”  “Any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden.”  Happy Monday Everyone! Enjoy Your World:-)
