Fiddles Pub, Elkin NC
A couple of weeks ago Joe and I were headed to one of our favorite places....the beautiful NC mountains. On the way up we decided to stop in Elkin NC to grab a quick bite to eat. We went to the visitors center and asked what they would suggest. One place she suggested that sounded great to us was Fiddles Pub. She said the sweet potato fries with dipping sauce were to die for. How could we pass that up?
As soon as we walked in we spotted the fiddles...fits the name:-)
"A small cozy pub and bar located in the historic district of downtown Elkin, North Carolina. Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Mountains, Yadkin Valley wineries, and the Victory Trail. Sports Bar. Specializing in Guinness on tap and a variety of other beer and wines. Mouthwatering sandwiches and pub food. Try our brisket sandwich with a basket of sweet potato fries! Live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Outdoor dining. Family friendly. Check us out on Facebook for pictures and more information."
Here is what Yelp had to say about their history...
"Established in 2011
In March, 2011 Jack Mantero purchased part of an old dry cleaners located in historic downtown Elkin. On October 1 Fiddles served our first customers. We restored an old counter discovered in the back of the space, which we incorporated into our bar. We purchased fiddles for our wall decor. Jack custom designed the ceiling and he and Pete built the back bar, which houses a selection of international wines and the large TV for viewing sporting events. Our goal is, "If you're a visitor walking in, you're a friend when you leave."
I did not realize how new the pub was until I read this just now. And their last comment about feeling like a friend when you leave...it is true. It was a very friendly feel at home kind of place.
Ahh the sweet potato fries. They were amazing especially with the dipping sauce. I suggest you give them a try...:-)
We really enjoyed our visit to Fiddles Pub. If we visit Elkin again we will be sure and return.
Get out and try a new restaurant!
Enjoy Your World:-)
